The CrossFit Open is a worldwide, three-week online competition that unites athletes across the globe. Each week, a new workout is released. Athletes complete the workout at their gym, submit their score online, and see how they stack up locally, nationally, and worldwide.
But here’s what matters most:
The Open is not just for elite athletes. It’s for:
The Open creates accountability, momentum, and connection. It gives purpose toy our training. It reminds you that you’re capable of more than you think.
You don’t have to “win” to win. You just have to show up.
Whether you RX, scale, or modify — the goal is participation. And at Body English, we make it an experience.
We are hosting Friday Night Lights as a FREE event for anyone who wants to do the open workouts, members and non-members.
Each week features a themed Friday Night Lights experience:
You choose how to interpret the theme. The community will vote on the best look or vibe each week, and we’ll crown a weekly winner (prize TBD).
Each Friday:
This format keeps the energy high, builds accountability, and ensures all participants are completing the workouts to the standards.
The decade was 1980. Hair was big and fanny packs were bigger.
It’s 1980. The music is loud. The colors are louder. Confidence is everything.
This was the era of neon windbreakers, high-cut leotards, leg warmers pulled over tube socks, and sweatbands that meant business. Early in the decade, the gym look was bold and unapologetic. By the mid-80s, acid wash denim, oversized graphic tees, and electric color combinations took over. And by the late 80s? Fanny packs were essential. High-top sneakers ruled. Big hair wasn’t optional.
The 80s didn’t whisper. It showed up.
So interpret it your way. Go full fitness icon. Go rock band. Go mall walker in neon. Go retro hip-hop. The bigger the energy, the better.
This is Week 1. Start loud.

The decade was 1990. Flannel was layered… and mixtapes meant something.
The 90s were contrast. Grunge met pop. Minimalism met bold prints. Track suits shared space with ripped denim.
Early 90s brought geometric windbreakers, scrunchies, and starter jackets that practically zipped themselves into memory. By the middle of the decade, flannel over a band tee became a uniform. Combat boots and oversized everything defined the vibe. And as the decade closed, tracksuits, plat form sneakers, sporty streetwear, and frosted tips stepped fully into the spotlight.
The 90s were expressive without trying too hard.
Pick your lane. Go grunge. Go pop star. Go boy band. Go playground athlete. However you interpret it, commit.
Week 2 is about personality.

The decade was 2000. Low-rise ruled… and everything had a logo.
Welcome to the early internet era. The flip phone era. The era of bold branding and unapologetic flash.
At the start of the 2000s, velour tracksuits, chunky sneakers, visors, and glossy everything dominated. Mid-decade brought logo-heavy tees, cargo shorts, sporty sunglasses, and side-swept bangs. By the late 2000s, skinny jeans, graphic tanks, and athletic streetwear blurred the line between gym and everyday life.
The 2000s were confident. Slightly chaotic. Fully committed.
Channel your inner pop icon. Early garage gym athlete. Reality TV energy. Sporty street fusion.
This is the final week. Finish strong. Dress louder than your lungs feel.
