2025 Memorial Day Murph
The Murph Workout isn’t just another tough fitness challenge—it’s a tribute to fallen Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy, who gave his life in Afghanistan during Operation Red Wings in 2005. Known for his bravery and leadership under fire, Lt. Murphy was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.
Before his final mission, Murph often did this exact workout—he called it “Body Armor.” Today, it's known worldwide as "Murph" and is one of the most recognized Hero WODs (Workouts of the Day) in the fitness and CrossFit communities.
Every Memorial Day, thousands of people across the globe come together to complete Murph as a way to honor those who gave everything —and to remind ourselves of the resilience, sacrifice, and service that define true heroism.
Why we do Murph at Body English:
We believe in building a stronger community, in and out of the gym. This event is our way of moving for something bigger than ourselves, bringing people together, and pushing ourselves with purpose.
It’s not just about the reps—it’s about remembering, respecting, and doing it together.
